A License for the VIA VT6656 Linux Driver

Update: VIA has released a new version of the VT6656 and VT6655 driver source packages with GPL licensing. Thank you VIA!

Back in July of this year (2007), VIA released the source code from their VT6656 Linux driver. The VT6656 is a wireless network chipset used in at least one USB wireless device that I know of.

Unfortunately, while each source file contains text indicating that the source code should only be used in accordance with the license terms, VIA neglected to actually include a license with the source archive. As a result, neither the source nor binaries built from the source can legally be redistributed by third parties (such as Linux distributions).
